John Dye, CPA

John Dye joined Allan Taylor & Co. after collaborating on several transactions with the Taylors in his role as a CPA and advisor to business owners. John’s professional accounting career spans more than two decades. His breadth of experience covers working at a large, super-regional accounting firm, to growing a small local accounting office and then spinning out on his own. Most recently John launched a popular CPA and consulting firm in Bentonville, which he successfully sold to a strategic acquirer in 2017.

In his role as an advisor, John combines his expertise in tax and accounting with a consultative approach to business management and strategic planning. He works with small to midsize businesses on all aspects of management and ownership, from startup through exit. John has helped hundreds of clients prepare for ownership transition scenarios — including a number of successful third-party sales and acquisitions.

Originally from Seligman, Missouri, John grew up in the family business. When he wasn’t in school, John was working in his father’s Northwest Arkansas construction business; a position he held from age 13 to 22. Today John lends his building skills to BGM, a Christian non-profit that builds sustainable communities throughout the world: He’s been to Thoman, Haiti nine times since 2012 and has helped build dozens of homes for Haitian families.

When you talk to John you realize that he’s not your typical CPA. His easy-going nature and sense of humor are a welcome addition to every meeting. “I was the only one in my graduating class whose personality test resulted in the complete opposite of my accounting peers,” says John. “I’m still pretty proud of that.”

John is the owner of Dye Hards, a local gym franchise in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. He is a lifelong fitness and weightlifting enthusiast, and former college baseball player.
